The sum that is quietly easy to get wrong

A charge in kilograms tells you nothing on its own. What matters is the tonnes of CO₂e it works out to, because that is what sets your leak-check interval. Do the conversion wrong once and you check that system at the wrong interval for a whole year without ever knowing.

Maintivo does the sum on the form and shows its working, so the interval is not a judgement call made in a plant room with a calculator.

What the app does on an F-Gas job

Open the Split AC or VRF leak check, or the Chiller service and F-Gas form. Pick the refrigerant and type in the charge. Maintivo applies that gas's GWP, turns the kilos into tonnes of CO₂e, tells you which leak-check band that puts the system in, and writes the next-check-due date against the unit in your asset register. The refrigerant designation and charge weight print on the record exactly as you entered them. The bands are the ones in the Great Britain F-gas rules; Northern Ireland and EU rules are not built in.

Which refrigerants does the F-Gas app support?

R32, R410A, R134a, R407C, R404A, R1234ze, R1234yf, R290 (propane) and R744 (CO₂). Pick one and the GWP is applied for you. The Split AC / VRF form also records whether the system is hermetically sealed and labelled, whether a leak detection system is fitted and when it was last checked, the leak-check method and detector used, any leak found with its location, cause and repair, the follow-up verification due date, gas added or recovered with the reclamation facility, and the engineer and company F-Gas certificate numbers that print on the record. It also serves air-con and HVAC service reports on the same visit.

The next check, tracked and chased

The unit sits in your asset register with its next-check-due date. Ninety days before it is due, the owner gets an iPhone notification (optional, switched on in Settings). Thirty days before, another. And again if it slips. On the web, what is due shows on the dashboard. Renewals stop being the thing you find out about from an angry site manager.

Works on the roof with no signal

Signal dies on rooftops, in risers and in ceiling voids. The iPhone app captures the entire job offline, readings, photos and the customer's signature included, and uploads it by itself the moment you are back in range. Nothing is retyped in the van. The web app needs a connection and keeps a draft in the browser.
